Now with Ancelotti again at the Santiago Bernabeu, the player’s name is also constantly being linked with being brought back again in the transfer market this summer. Despite continuing to be linked with the Spanish League giants, the former AS Monaco player will still honor his contract at Everton until June 2022.

Speaking to the media, James Rodriguez said that his chances of returning to Real Madrid were very slim. He explained that he would stay at Everton until next season.

According to James, Carlo Ancelotti is unlikely to bring him back to Real Madrid. He openly stated that his football career at El Real was over. Therefore, next season he will certainly remain in the club uniform nicknamed The Toffees.

The 2020/21 season, the player appeared in 26 matches in all competitions scoring 6 goals and 9 assists. His contract is set to expire next season, but has the option to be extended for another year.

James Rodriguez Absent Against Wolves, This Is The Cause

Everton coach Carlo Ancelotti said James Rodriguez did not appear against Wolves because the player was experiencing fatigue.

After the win against Arsenal, the Colombia international was sidelined. Even his name was not included in the squad for the football club from Merseyside against Aston Villa twice and West Ham United in the Premier League.

However, in week 36 against Sheffield United the player was played from the early minutes. However, in the 78th minute James Rodriguez had to be withdrawn. Meanwhile, he missed again when he met Wolves in a narrow 1-0 win at Goodison Park, Thursday (20/5).

Speaking before the match against Wolves, Carlo Ancelotti said the player was not included in the squad due to fatigue. After missing a few games, he played again against Sheffield United.

However, when he met Wolves in the middle of the week, the Italian football coach did not want to force James Rodriguez to play and did not want to take risks.

With the Merseyside football club this season, James has started 21 games as a starter in the Premier League. His appearance at the beginning of the season managed to bring The Toffees through the top flight.

James Rodriguez last scored in the Premier League when Everton drew 1-1 with Crystal Palace at Goodison Park. His goal then almost gave the club victory, but Mitchy Batshuayi canceled out the former Bayern Munich man’s goal in the 86th minute.

Now Everton only has one game left in the 2020/21 Premier League against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, Sunday (23/5).

It will be interesting to see if James Rodriguez can be fit or not in the final game of the season.
